ATLANTA – February 19, 2024 – Bell Law Firm and Corboy & Demetrio confirm the filing of a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of plaintiffs Lisa Swisher, David Decker, and Donna Decker in Fulton County, Georgia, against Joseph Chislom, Dostyar General Trading Company (Georgia), Dostyar General Trading Company (Florida), and Progressive Casualty Insurance Company, following negligence that led to vehicle the collision and death of Justin and Sara Loring. Justin and Sara are survived by their three children, all minors.
On July 15, 2022, the Loring family – both parents and three children – were traveling in their minivan from their home in Illinois to visit relatives who resided in Georgia. That afternoon, the family stopped at a red light at an intersection in Ringgold, Georgia. As Justin, the driver, made the legal left turn onto Georgia State Route 2, the family was catastrophically hit by a semi-truck driven by Joseph Chislom. As a direct result of the collision, Justin and Sara Loring died, and the three children suffered severe physical and psychological injuries.
Joseph Chislom, at the time employed by Dostyar GA and/or Dostyar FL, failed to adhere to the legal speed limit, obey a traffic-control device, maintain a proper lookout for other vehicles, and ensure that the semi-truck he drove was fit for operation. These negligent actions ultimately caused the death of two innocent people and left three children parentless.
